Patricia Louise (Gegenheimer) Allen

(McAllen) - Patricia Louise (Gegenheimer) Allen, 87, loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away at home in McAllen on May 21, 2023. Mrs. Allen was born on October 16, 1935, in New Orleans, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lionel (LW) and Eloyd (Micas) Gegenheimer, sister, Evelyn (Gegenheimer) Greenhill and infant brother, Bradley Gegenheimer. She was the oldest of six children. She was raised in Houston and McAllen and is survived by her loving husband, Robert E. Allen, of 64 years. They were married on February 7, 1959, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church after meeting at Our Lady of Sorrows Young Adults Club. Patricia was a graduate from McAllen High School in 1954 and attended our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Robert E. Allen, daughter, Debra (Allen) Royder, son-in-law, Don Royder, grandson, Wyatt Royder, daughter, Paula (Allen) Iannello, son-in-law, Charles Iannello, grandson, Antonio (Tony) Gonzalez, Jr., granddaughter in-law, Robyn (Ferrer) Gonzalez, great-grandson, David Anthony Gonzalez, son, William (Bill) Allen, daughter, Jenny (Allen) DeBerry, son-in-law, Hal DeBerry, daughter, Teresa (Allen) May, son-in-law, Paul C. May, Sr., granddaughters, Hannah May, Meagan May, and grandson, Paul C. May, Jr., brother-in-law, Melvin Greenhill, brother, Lionel (Lonnie) Gegenheimer, Jr., sister-in-law, Betty Gegenheimer, sister, Mary (Gegenheimer) Wilson, brother-in-law, Freeman Wilson, sister, Katherine (Kathy) (Gegenheimer) Berry and brother-in-law, Ron Berry and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She loved cooking and caring for her family, gathering, and hosting family birthdays and holiday celebrations, tending to her rosebushes and plants, and was a long-standing member of Bunco Clubs in both McAllen and San Antonio. She was also a former member of the Our Lady of Sorrow choir along with her husband, Robert. The family would like to show their appreciation and thank you to long-time care givers, Vickie Aguirre, Felipa Bajan, Sue Delgado, and Tanna Garcia and the Elora Caring Hospice Care Team who cared for Mrs. Allen. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a rosary at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen on Thursday, June 1. A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 2 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in the Chapel. Interment services have been entrusted to Kreidler Funeral Home at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.
