Lily K. Swan Majors Rambo

LILY K. SWAN MAJORS RAMBO of McAllen Texas passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026 in Mission Texas at the age of 89. She was born on July 10, 1936 in Girard, Kansas and from the very beginning, she lived a life on her own terms. Born to Loren B Swan and Prezzie B. Darity Swan, Lily was the baby of three children. After graduating from Girard high school, she stepped into a life filled with curiosity, courage, and color. Lily collected experiences the way others collect souvenirs. She was many things to many people. She was a wife. She was a mother she was a grandmother, but mostly her favorite was being the best grandmother to Jake. Lily was a pioneer in the health food industry and the proud owner of Major Health Foods for over 40 years long before “Wellness” was a trend, Lily believed in caring for the body, mind and spirit. She mentored countless people, shared knowledge freely, and open doors for others wherever she went. Community mattered deeply to Lily. She gave her time and Heart to many organizations, including the National Nutritional Food Association, Southwest NNFA, the Dale Carnegie Institute, the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, Zonta, the Organization of Women Executives, the McAllen, Business Alliance, the Renaissance Club, Poco Loco’s theater group ,Understanding Yourself and others (UYO), Al-Anon, and the Valley Symphony Orchestra. Her involvement wasn’t about titles… it was about people. Standing just 5 feet tall, Lily had a presence that filled every room. She believed in connection, laughter, learning, and living fully. Like a small stone dropped into water, her life created ripples that continue to reach far beyond what she could ever see. Lily was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Loren B. Swan; her sister, Betty Larrick and her beloved husband, Darryl Rambo. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, JoLynn (David) Hasler of Edinburg, TX and Lori (Dell) Jackson of Ocala, FL ; Grandchildren, Jake (Josie) Hasler, Stephanie Hasler, Stacy Hasler and David (Milica) Hasler, along with many extended family members, and dear friends, whose lives were better because they knew her. Visitation will begin at 9am on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen with a service at 10:00am. The HASLER family would like to thank Waterford Gardens Assisted Living for their love and support while Lily was a resident. To All State Hospice for their professional compassion care. Also to Mrs Roda Grubb for always taking the time twice a week to visit Lily for the past 7 years. Whether it was a meditation walk or just sitting and chatting .. it meant the world to her. Kreidler Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to Suzanna Smiles.
