Gleeanna Lee Cator

Gleeanna Lee Cator, 66, passed away on April 16th, 2024, at McAllen Medical Center (STHS) after complications from a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. What do you say about the strongest woman you've ever known after she passes away? That's a tough one. One thing is for sure: God gave her a heart of gold and strength that no one can explain. She faced so much adversity in her life, but she kept kicking butt and taking names while having a feisty attitude along the way. Glee was the most loving, accepting, and forgiving woman. She embraced life and knew how to have fun, yet she taught her children and grandchildren valuable life lessons along the way. When asked her advice on life, she said these things: 1) Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them. 2) Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth. 3) Never deprive someone of hope; it may be all they have. 4) Always be kind, thoughtful, and respectful. Love yourself and others. The woman was the best friend anyone could ask for and would do anything for you....except let you win at golf. She was an avid golfer, and she would kick everyone's butt. To have had Glee in your life meant you were one blessed individual because she was the most amazing friend, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother ever! She is preceded in death by her dad, Clarance Fay Schauf, and her husband, Robert Lee Cator. She is loved by so many: She's loved by her mother, Phyllis Schauf; her sisters, Linda Zion, Holly McCarter, and Mary Schauf; her brothers, Leo Miller and Keith Miller. Her children and grandchildren will forever remember their mom and "Jama" and love her forever, and as she would say, "to the moon and back." Kody Cator with wife Serena and children Faith and Ridge; Clint Cator with wife Kristin and children Kelton, Cole, Corbin; Krystle Cator (East) with husband Derrick and children Remington, Rebel, and Reagan Gleeanna; and youngest child (also her favorite, which we all knew), Kale Cator with Catherine Stangl. The family has extended an invite to celebrate Glee on Saturday, April 20th at a gathering at 1:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m., at Kreidler Funeral Home, 314 N 10th Street, McAllen, TX.
