Proverbs 31:31 "Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." The world lost a beloved mother, wife and grandmother. On November 10th, Raquel Peña, returned to her heavenly Father. Raquel Peña lived every moment of life to the fullest. Even through sickness and loss, she never stopped helping those around her. Raquel Peña died surrounded by her loved ones (Dr. Francisco I. Peña, Delia Carbajal, Javier Peña, Jessica Peña-Cabana, Josefa Peña, and Sofia Aguilar). Raquel Peña was born in Texas in 1947. She learned everything she knew from her own loving parents, Lorenzo and Flavia Enriquez. Raquel Peña worked as a registered nurse and office manager alongside her husband of over 40 years. She also trained racehorses on a ranch she and her husband owned in North McAllen. Her friends and family knew her as a tenacious, caring and strong spirit who cherished her family, animals, and loved ones. Raquel Peña made a lasting impression on everyone she met. She is an inspiration to us all and will not be forgotten. Raquel Peña is preceded in death by her loving parents, (Lorenzo Enriquez and Flavia Ochoa Enriquez) and siblings (Lorenzo Enriquez Jr., Ramona Cortez, Rosie Reyna, Diana Enriquez, and Jorge Enriquez). Raquel Peña is survived by her husband (Dr. Francisco I. Peña), children (Jaime Peña, Javier Peña, Josefa Peña, Jessica Peña-Cabana), sister (Delia Carbajal), and grandchildren (Jaime A. Peña, Sofia R. Aguilar, Julia A. Peña, Joaquin A. Peña, Rachel M. Barney, Isabella Aguilar, Jakob Peña, Penelope R. Peña, Emma L. Cabana, and Jozef F. C. Jaworski). Pallbearers will be Francisco I. Peña, Esteban Carbajal, Franco Carbajal, Robert Cabana, Robert Caples, John Rodriquez. Friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Raquel Peña at the Rosary and Visitation, that will be held at 5pm to 7pm with the Rosary starting at 6pm on Sunday, November 14th, at Kreidler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, November 15th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens, Mission, Texas.
