Martha Ann (McKinnon) Myatt, 70, was called home to the Lord Friday, February 9, 2018 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center after a hard fought battle with cancer. Martha was born on June 29, 1947 to Thomas Jefferson McKinnon, Jr. and Paule “Paulette” (Andre) McKinnon of Mission, TX. Martha was a graduate of McAllen High School, class of 1965, and earned her degree in Education from Pan American college in 1969. She married Charles Wayne Myatt, of McAllen, on August 25, 1969. Together they spent 48 wonderful years of marriage together raising their family and making memories along the way. Martha was a beautiful soul who was friendly to everyone; she touched the lives of everyone around her and had many lasting friendships. Martha worked for the Texas Employment Commission (now Texas Workforce commission) from 1969 until her retirement in 2001. In those many years she worked at the Weslaco, Laredo, McAllen and Edinburg offices, assisting many people in finding jobs, beginning their careers and starting their lives. Martha dedicated many hours working with McHi Reunions for the Class of 65 where she deepened her friendships with so many in the class she loved. All who knew her will dearly miss her. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. McKinnon, Jr. and her father-in-law, Vernon L. Myatt. She is survived by her mother Paule “Paulette” (Andre) McKinnon of McAllen; mother-in-law Dorothy (Morgan) Myatt of McAllen; loving husband Charles W. Myatt of McAllen; daughter Teresa (Myatt) Schuette and husband Ronnie of Manor, TX; son Robert W. Myatt and wife Amanda of College Station, TX. Also surviving are five grand children; Thomas Anthony, Charles Randall Lee and Jenna Mae Schuette as well as Ethan Wayne and Clara Jo Myatt. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16 at Kreidler Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb 17, 2018 at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice, or simply spend a little on something that makes you happy, and just remember Martha.
