    Linda Garza Gould

    May 13, 2022

Linda Garza Gould, 57, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, was called to Our Lord on Friday, May 13, 2022 at her home. Linda was born in Brownsville on January 29, 1965. She graduated from McAllen Memorial High School in 1983. She attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, where she met her husband. Linda was generous and giving, a kind soul and friend to everyone. Linda threw large birthday parties for her children and made sure they received lots of gifts at Christmas. She baked German Chocolate cake for her husband every year on his birthday. Linda enjoyed playing hide-and-seek with her granddaughter, who she called, “My Butterfly.” Well-known for her cooking, Linda loved making sure that everyone had plenty to eat. This was especially true at Thanksgiving and Christmas, when Linda went all out. She had hundreds of cookbooks and frequently tried new recipes, including guava cheesecake and key lime pie. King Ranch casserole was a family favorite. She held cooking classes and was quick to share recipes or cooking ideas with family and friends. At the time of her unexpected passing, Linda was writing a cookbook. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Leonel Garza, Jr., and her sister, Selina Marie Garza. She is survived by her husband, Richard Bruce Gould, of Mission; her children and their spouses, Dr. Jordan Killis Gould and his wife, Heather Nicole Gould of San Antonio; Andrew Hunting Gould and his wife, Chelsea Lee Gibbs, of Tucson, Arizona; and Cameron Lane Gould and his fiancé, Kayla Barrios of Austin; her granddaughter, Nicole Addison Gould of Tucson, Arizona; her brothers, Leonel Garza, III, of McAllen; and Luis Carlos Garza, of Richmond; her mother, Maria Linda Garza, of McAllen; and her father-in-law, Dr. R. Bruce Gould, of San Antonio. Visitation will be Friday May 20, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM with the Rosary at 3 p.m. at Kreidler Funeral Home, McAllen, Texas. A prayer service will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, in the Prayer Garden at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Mission. Linda always loved flowers. She also supported the mission of St. Jude Children's Hospital. Either donation is greatly appreciated.
