Lee Ann French passed away peacefully at Comfort House in McAllen, Texas on August 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Lee Ann was born on January 31, 1939 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. She was raised in the beautiful city of Fort Collins, Colorado where she met her husband “Jeep” Victor French. A graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in microbiology, she went on to live in Riverside, California, Lansing, Michigan and McAllen, Texas. Once in the Valley, she and her husband raised two wonderful children. She worked as a medical technologist for physicians’ offices and then excelled as a school teacher for The Teacher’s Academy. Her students truly loved her passion for education and guiding them through the challenges of young adulthood. Lee Ann was very involved at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She traveled with her family to exciting destinations including London, South Africa, Honduras, Belize and many parts of the United States. Lee Ann was a superb cook and during Thanksgiving and Christmas everyone enjoyed her famous stuffing and incredible pickled eggs. Words alone cannot express the dedication and self-sacrifice that Lee Ann had for her family – whether it was caring for her mother while raising 2 children or making sure her children and husband had the best support anyone could have. Among those who remain to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Victor, daughter and son-in-law Jeannine and Scott Benoit and son and daughter-in-law Derek and Amanda French. She is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan and Dylan French and nephews Jeff and David French of Colorado. The family truly appreciates all of the love and support from friends, neighbors and church members. A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church 301 Pecan Blvd, McAllen. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church in McAllen.
