José "Joe" Leal

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Jose "Joe" Leal announces his passing on August 28, 2018. Joe will be remembered most for his kindness, generosity and his unwavering support and love for his family, especially his children. Joe was born in San Juan, Texas on February 13, 1928. He joined the US Army and proudly served in the later part of World War II in Japan. After returning home to Texas he relocated to California with his wife, Maria Antonieta where they raised 5 children. After Maria's death in 1995, Joe returned to his roots in Texas in order to be closer to his beloved sister, Raquel Lopez and her family. He later married Cecilia Leal and together they had 2 children. He is survived by his children, Perla, Adriana, John, Ilda, Demetrius, Silvestre, Adriana, Anna Cecilia and Alex. His grandchildren, Michael, Elisa, Sabina and Jasper. His sister, Raquel Lopez her husband, Noe and their children, Noe, Gina, Sophia and Felix. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 6 to 8 PM with a rosary being recited at 7 PM at Kreidler Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be on Friday, August 31, 2018, at 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial to follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery at 11 AM.
