On April 17, 2021, with family and caregivers at her side, Gladys J. Law—beloved mother and endearing friend to all who knew her, passed away peacefully at 101 years of age. Born in Missouri in 1920, Gladys was the middle child of 7 siblings. In 1938, she married the love of her life, Waite D. Law, and they went on to have 2 daughters, Gail and Leslie. They moved to south Texas in 1952, where Gladys became avidly involved in various community service activities and organizations. A charter member of PEO Chapter DS from 1955-2021, she was also a member of the Jr. Service League and various volunteer venues throughout the city. A longstanding member of the First Presbyterian Church of McAllen, she taught Sunday school and assisted with the youth fellowship and children’s choir throughout the years, as well as generously lending her artistic talents to numerous community and church-related projects. Gladys is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, 7 siblings, 4 nieces and nephews, and multiple extended family members. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Gail Law Newlin (Terry) of Houston and Leslie Law Tanner (Amby) of McAllen. A celebration of her life will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 in the Courtyard at First Presbyterian Church of McAllen. Arrangements under the direction of Kreidler Funeral Home. In view of COVID restrictions, the service will also be zoomed at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/7896808296?pwd=VEhKN3J1eW82SEhHc2lUQXlVU0FRUT09 The family would like to acknowledge the impeccable care provided to Gladys by Mary Arenas, Kimberley Pacheco, & Adela Pacheco, as well as Corazon Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Palm Valley Animal Society-Laurie P. Andrews Center, Lynn Flowers Preschool (First Presbyterian Church), or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
