George H. Etz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

McAllen – George H. Etz, Jr is now in his heavenly home, face to face with our Lord Jesus Christ as of July 3, 2022. He was born in Roswell, New Mexico on March 24, 1929 the only child to the late George Herbert Etz Sr and Olivia Williams. He is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 68 years Carolyn Cole Etz. He is survived by his sons George (Michele) H. Etz III, Benjamin (Diana Storrs) Cole Etz, grandson Lucas (Nancy Jo) Cole Etz. Great grandchildren Eleanora, Gideon, Josephine, and Callahan. Niece Jo Carol (Nolan) Harmon. George was a 1949 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering. He soon after joined the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant. After his active duty was completed in 1953, he and Carolyn moved to McAllen TX. George was Trustee of several Oil and Gas royalty trusts until his retirement in 2016. He loved fishing offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as hunting dove and quail with his many English pointers. George was a founding member of Grace Bible Church in McAllen TX. The study of Bible Doctrine taught by R.B. Thieme Jr. was of utmost importance to him. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
