Eugenio José Garcia

Eugenio José García passed away at his home on October 10, 2018 in Mission, Texas. He was born December 22, 1935 in Holguin, Cuba. He shared a very happy life with Martha Zayas, his bride of nearly 57 years. Eugenio served his country proudly in the United States Army. His family was at the core of all his life’s work and passed surrounded by those he treasured most; his wife, kids, grandchildren and siblings. Eugenio is survived by his wife, Martha Zayas de Garcia and his children, Pedro Ramon García, Myra Caridad García (Richard), and Martha “Hita” Jarvis (Eric). He was adored by seven grandchildren: Carlos Rodrigo, Erika Gabriela, Daniel Eugenio, Pedro Antonio, Marcela Isabel, Chelsea Caridad, and Alex Francisco. Also, by his sisters, Maria Eugenia Alvarez and Agnes LaLonde (Bernard). He was preceded in death by his parents (Ramon and Josepha Garcia) and by his brother, Jose Julio Garcia and brothers-in-law, Efrain Tenopala and Alejandro Alvarez. The viewing will start at 3 pm on Friday, October 12th at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen with a Rosary to follow at 7pm. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows in McAllen on Saturday, October 13th at 10 am. The García family extends a heartfelt appreciation to the extraordinary staff of AMARA Hospice and ACE Home Health that cared for our father so lovingly.
