Billie B. Hall passed away at her home on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the age of 99. She was born in 1923 in Silver Lake, TX to W.A. (Bill) and Bettie L. Fowler. Billie graduated from Grand Saline High School and attended University of North Texas, majoring in Home Economics, before following her beloved sister Sibyl to the Rio Grande Valley in 1942. Billie married Albert L. Hall in 1946 and worked as a library aide at Zavala Elementary School, Lamar Junior High School and Morris Junior High School, retiring from McAllen ISD in 1986. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen, working in the children’s ministry for many years. Her lifelong dedication to God and the nurturing of children is her hallmark. Billie was a magical woman with a zest for life that was infectious. Her innate joy and moxie touched everyone she met and left an indelible mark on her family that will live on in each always. She was fun, funny, giving and loving. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was always up for a silly game, a laugh, a story or a hug. She made each person feel like they were special and gave endlessly to offer unconditional love and support and to build others up through her own generosity of spirit. She was a fabulous home maker and cook and was happiest when surrounded by her boisterous, devoted and doting family. Billie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert, her daughter Betty Sue, her sister Sibyl and her parents Bill and Bettie Fowler. She is survived in loving memory by her children, Mary Jane Elliott of Houston, Nancy Jo Wagstaff (Robert) of LaPorte, Jimmy L. Hall (Laura) of McAllen and Martha Ann Smith (Daryn) of McAllen, 10 adoring grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren (and 2 more on the way!), her nephew Bill Mattar (Patty) of Mission and their children and grandchildren, and countless other friends and family members. Funeral services will be held at Kreidler Funeral Home at 2 pm Monday, January 24, 2022, with viewing and visitation beginning at 1 pm. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
