Rolando Sanchez

Rolando Sanchez, age 83, of McAllen, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Rolando was born in McAllen, Texas to Elena G. Sanchez and Pedro Sanchez Sr. Rolando served in the U.S. Air Force for 3 years and was stationed at the Altus Air Force Base in Altus, Oklahoma. On June 3, 1962 he married Amalia (Molly), his high school sweetheart. Rolando excelled in customer service and had a passion for cars as he pursued a 25-year career in the automotive and truck parts industry. Afterwards, he started a second career with the United States Postal Service until retirement age. Rolando loved working on muscle cars and shared many of his mechanical skills with his two sons. His guidance led them to many race wins and a championship at the local dirt track. Rolando loved dancing to 50s and Tejano country music. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros and San Antonio Spurs. Rolando instilled in his children the importance of an education and inspired them to have strong work ethics and integrity. Although quiet by nature, Rolando was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He made many friends along the way and always had stories to tell about his adventures. Rolando is preceded in death by his father Pedro Sanchez Sr., his mother Elena G. Sanchez; brothers: Beto Sanchez, Leonel Sanchez, Pedro Sanchez Jr., Arturo Sanchez; sisters: Viola Pena and Maria Elena Casas and his son Reynaldo Sanchez. Many thanks to family and friends who shared time with him on the path of life. Rolando is survived by his spouse, Amalia (Molly) Sanchez; their children Orlando (Marisela) Sanchez; Maritza (Robert) Martinez, grandchildren: Serina Sanchez, Roland Sanchez, Leena Sanchez, Selah Sanchez, Ashley Saenz, Mathew Sanchez, Marco Martinez, Victoria Martinez and great-grandson, Gerry James Pineda. Visitation for Rolando will be held Friday, August 29, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kreidler Funeral Home, 314 N. 10th Street in McAllen, Texas with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen with Interment to follow at 11:00 a.m. at La Piedad Cemetery, 1801 Wichita Avenue in McAllen, Texas. The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #8788 will provide Full Military Honors.
