Anthony (Tony) Brunnemann, Sr.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Anthony (Tony) Brunnemann, Sr., loving husband, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at the age of 86. Tony was born on October 28, 1937 in Harlingen, Texas to the late Frank Cadwell Brunnemann and Virda Ann Nelson. Tony is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Jean (Dotty) Brunnemann and 3 children, Anthony (Tony) Brunnemann, Jr. (Elda), Melissa Cassada Metts (Andrew) and Mark Wayne Brunnemann (Melody) as well as six grandchildren, Ashley L Cassada, McKenzie Brunnemann Dillon (Michael),Connor Anthony Brunnemann, Audrey Blaine Brunnemann, Gilbert Brunnemann (Jessie), and Anthony Patrick Brunnemann (Bridget) along with eight great grandchildren, Stephen Chase Cassada, Randi Elizabeth Rankin, Leia Brunnemann, Luke Brunnemann, Lilly Brunnemann, Leon Brunnemann, Cyrus Brunnemann, and Dottie Brunnemann. Tony attended Texas A&M University, College Station and loved his Texas Aggies. Throughout the years he was committed to the community from Brownsville to McAllen, Texas. His outstanding business, Central TV and Appliances, provided the latest technology during that time. After he closed Central TV and Appliances, he went on to provide exceptional customer service and sales with Motorola, Rio Radio and Tri-County Communications where he retired in 2009. Dad belonged to various organizations over the years including the McAllen Greeters Club and the Weslaco Rotary Club. Tony was a gentle soul who loved his family more than life, and we will miss those great big bear hugs. He was committed to his work and taught his children strong work ethics for life. His grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him great joy. Attending school activities, graduations and helping his grandchildren with their 4-H woodworking projects were always a special time of bonding. Throughout the years Tony had many passions such as hunting, fishing, gardening, hummingbirds, woodworking. Above all his traits, he always placed GOD first in his life and looked forward to attending church. He was a devout Christian and was a member of the Foundations Methodist Church in McAllen, Texas. The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care from the medical community over the past five years from Baylor Scott & White-Temple, Healing Touch Home Health Care-Weslaco, Dr. Hector Amaya-Weslaco, Alora Hospice-Weslaco. A special acknowledgement needs to be extended to Irene Aguirre and Chris Rodriguez who are two extraordinary angels that our father loved and adored. They showed so much compassion and support and are such a blessing to our family. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, November16th, 2024 at 3:00PM, at Kreidler Funeral Home, 314 North 10th Street, McAllen, TX 78501. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any charitable donations be made to Foundations Methodist Church, 5111 North 10th ST, #181, McAllen, TX 78501.
