Angelina Griego Jimenez

McAllen - Angelina Griego Jimenez also known as "Jello" to her loved ones, born in Albuquerque, NM, was called to heaven with family by her side on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Angelina was born on June 12, 1935, to Demetrio and Guadalupe Griego. Angelina and her late sister Beatrice (Bobbie) were the last 2 of 10 siblings. The 2 siblings were also the best of friends and time they spent with each other was cherished. A testimony of her deep love and everlasting bond Angelina had with her sister Bobbie was shown in her wish to also remember her beloved sister on the day of her memorial service. They are both reunited in heaven and will truly be missed. Angelina married her beloved Mario Jimenez, Sr., in February of 1957. She was preceded in death by her husband and survived by her sons and daughters: Patricia, Mario Jr., Debora, Charles, Laura and Christopher, their spouses and children. Angelina was the most cherished wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her role as mother and grandmother brought her the most joy. Angelina and Mario Sr. did everything in this world to make a difference in all the lives of their children, grandchildren, close relatives and friends they touched along the way. Angelina was more than a mom and grandmother, she was a powerful businesswoman and politician. Angelina worked her whole life, building a local family run company and being involved in the McAllen community. After Mario Sr., was called to heaven, Angelina spent time living with many of her children in Alaska and Houston as well as visiting family members. She settled back in McAllen with her daughter Debbie, who was devoted to her mother's 24/7 care. Angelina will be remembered fondly for being a truly amazing, strong and loving woman devoted her family and those she loved. She leaves behind so many friends and relatives who loved and admired her and have many fond memories from their time with her. Angelina had a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews and will be missed, but never forgotten by many other relatives and friends. Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort knowing Angelina is reunited with her sister Bobbie, siblings and beloved Mario Sr. May she rest in peace. A service is planned for August 23, 2023, at 10am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2201 Martin Avenue, McAllen, Texas.
